In spring, the days are mild, with blooming flowers adding vibrant colors to the Tibetan plateau, while autumn provides crisp, cool weather with unparalleled visibility of the majestic Himalayas, including Mt. Everest. These seasons are ideal for sightseeing and photography, as well as enjoying the cultural richness of the region. Summer (June to August) can also be considered, as Tibet lies in a rain-shadow area, receiving minimal rainfall compared to Nepal; however, occasional showers and landslides on the Nepal side may cause disruptions.
Avoid Winter (November to February) to take the Kathmandu-Lhasa tour as it is the least favorable time due to harsh cold, potential snow closures at high passes, and extreme weather conditions in higher altitudes, though the quieter environment may appeal to some travelers. Overall, April, May, September, and October are the most recommended months for an unforgettable journey across the Himalayas and into the heart of Tibet.
